This session just blew my mind. I've been dying to shoot at Rattlesnake Ledge for ages, and I was so thrilled when these two suggested we go up there for their engagement session. I was completely unprepared for this hike; I had asked several people what to expect and they all told me "oh it's not that hard, just wear regular clothes and stuff it's basically a walk." Um I want to slap the people that told me that because it wasn't "basically a walk" at all. It was definitely a HIKE. Like an idiot, I showed up in my skinny jeans and Birkinstocks with my one-shoulder-camera-bag that ways 5 pounds without my gear in it... And what was more embarrassing is that these two are HIKERS. Like, legit hikers. Showed up with hiking sticks and everything. Basically I couldn't have been dressed worse and it was a loooong mile up. But every blister on my foot and knot in my back was totally worth it. I loved getting to spend time with this couple and getting to know them before their wedding. Not only that, but I'm absolutely in love with these images. It almost doesn't look real. That's how I felt when I was up there; I could hardly believe what my eyes were seeing. It still looks fake as I look at these images; mother nature is just too good to be true sometimes. It was breathtaking. I'm dying to do this hike again not dressed like an idiot.
We started our afternoon with a little shooting pre-funk in downtown Kirkland and then made our way to the hike from there. Enjoy!
