The New Children’s Museum is such a rad and unique space for a wedding - I am OBSESSED! It was the perfect location for Julia and Tanner’s day. From a photographers persepctive, this wedding was such a dream to shoot.  We started the day at Hotel Republic for getting-ready, which is easily one of my favorite San Diego hotels. It’s simple, clean and modern with tons of natural light! The modern and clean aesthetic was the perfect way to start the day to pair with the vibe at The New Children’s Museum (and it was only a 5 minute Uber-ride away - amaaaaazing). The New Children’s Museum is such a cool venue - I love all the colors and shapes to work with! It really creates such stunning images that are creative and soooo out of the norm. I love all the different colorful installations and there are huge windows that allow for incredible window light. The styling was done so perfectly and really played up everything the venue has to offer, and Kayla from Southern House Events designed it soooo beauitfully. The bright summer florals were INCREDIBLE and totally popped against the dark green linens. I don’t tend to nerd out over tables capes but Kayla truly designed a work of art with all the candlelight and more florals than i’ve ever seen in one place - it was STUNNING and so romantic!

Their wedding date marked 10 years together - they started dating when they were 18 and 19 years old and have been together ever since. It was so incredible seeing all their family and friends come together and celebrate them - it was the greatest party celebrating such an incredible couple. You can always tell when a couple has been together a long time - they are clearly so comfortable with each other and their tribe of friends were the best hype team all day.

A personal favorite touch of mine was a version of a Sum 41 song playing while Julia walked down the aisle - as a fellow pop-punk lover it made me jealous I didn’t incorporate my favorite music in my own wedding. My favorite moment to shoot all day was during their recessional, guests tossed colorful dried flower’s and it was sooooo beautiful. They also wanted to do their first look in the Wondersound Exhibit, which is probably the most unique setting I’ve ever done a first look - and I LOVED the results. This was their favorite exhibit to spend time in when they’d come visit their venue, and I can’t imagine how special it felt do be doing their first look there.

ENJOY! This is a super cool venue and there’s soooo much rad photo opportunities. The vendor team really brought this space to life and I hope this gives some good inspo for anyone else wanting to get married at The New Children’s Museum!
